Matthew 5:17 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."

This is actually a very simple subject, but years of training people to ignore the obvious words has been successful. Fulfill does not mean to destroy or end.

"Think not" Christ's own words are ignored. Fulfill does not mean destroy or end. It means to satisfy or to do. What did Christ do?

Luke 24:44 "And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me."

Christ did what was prophesied for Him to do.

Those who destroy the Law also destroy the prophets.

Those who do not believe the writings of Moses, do not believe Christ.

John 5:46-47 "For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?"

Those who throw away the Law of Moses, are not believing Moses writings and thus deny Christ.

John 1:1- "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The Word is God. The Word includes the Law. Many try to pit Christ against God concerning the Law.

Isaiah 43:11 "I, I am Yahweh; and beside me there is no savior."

John 10:30 "I and my Father are one."

John 4:26 "Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee AM."

When Christ said "I AM", he claimed to be Yahweh God. God's Law is the same Law as what people claim is Christ's Law.

The new covenant can not exist with out God's Law. God's Law is the basis for the covenant. Jeremiah 31:31-33, Hebrews 8:8-10 and Hebrews 10:16.

Those who throw away the old testament lose context for quotes in the new testament. Most ignore the context anyway. One of many examples is in Romans.

Romans 9:24-26 "Even us, whom he hath called, not of Judah only, but also of the Gentiles? As he saith also in Hosea, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God."

Because people do not check the context of the quote from Hosea they have been led to believe that those Gentiles are some other people.

Amos 9:9b "and the kingdom shall not be left to other people"

In context those Gentiles are the ten northern tribes who were divorced by God, sent into the Assyrian captivity, but were promised they would become "children of the living God" or Christians. This has all come to pass since they escaped to Europe as history records. They are not Jews.
