Gospel Minutes.orgWise Men Astrologers? Were the wise men who visited Christ after his birth astrologers? Some may think so because they had followed a star to find the Christ. Astrology is a distortion of something that is good. What evil can you think of that is not just that? The wise men were not astrologers because they watched the stars. Let's see what the scripture says about the stars. Psalms 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the expanse proclaims His handiwork. The scripture proclaims the truth. The truth is that God has given us the Gospel in the Stars. Then man came along and turned it into something evil and called it astrology. Let me recommend a good book called, "The Glory of the Stars, A Study of the Zodiac", by E. Raymond Capt. In the book Mr. Capt explains the divine origin of the zodiac. Genesis 1:14 "And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to divide between the day and the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years." Based on the above verse you might understand how the wise men understood what was happening in Palestine. This next quote is from a book that is twice mentioned or even perhaps endorsed by scripture. It is not inspired, but since it is mentioned twice I have to give it some attention. Jasher 53:18 And he ordered them to bring before him his map of the stars, whereby Joseph knew all the times, and Joseph said unto Benjamin, I have heard that the Hebrews are acquainted with all wisdom, dost thou know anything of this? 1 Corinthians 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory.
