What is the Lake of Fire? There are five verses in Revelation that mention a Lake of Fire. This lake is mentioned in the midst of much symbolism. Is the lake of fire an actual lake with fire burning in it? Is it possible that the lake of fire is symbolic for something else? Well the Bible does not make us guess. Below are listed the five verses found in Revelation 19 and 20 that mention the lake of fire. In two of those verses the Bible tells us just what the lake of fire represents. See if you can find it. Revelation 19:20 Did you see it? When one is thrown into the lake of fire it is the second death. The lake of fire is imagery for the second death. The idea that fire is involved goes right along with the parable of the wheat and the tares. The tares or the evil are removed first and bundled and burned.
